The short answer
PrimeWall Interior Solutions travels about 17 miles south from Fort Lauderdale to hang, strip and repair wallpaper in Ojus, Miami-Dade County. We prepare every wall for the area's year-round humidity before installing.
Ojus is an unincorporated community in northeastern Miami-Dade County, about seventeen miles south of our Fort Lauderdale shop. Because it is not its own city, residents sometimes find that contractors skip over it or lump it in with a neighboring name. We list it on purpose. The homes here face the same tropical climate as the rest of the coast, with long humid summers, steady air conditioning and occasional storm disruptions, and they deserve the same attention to preparation and detail that we give every client. This page covers the services we provide and how we handle the local conditions.

How Humidity Changes the Work
Paste needs to release its water to cure. In a dry climate that happens quickly, but in Miami-Dade the indoor air is only as dry as the air conditioning makes it. If the system is undersized, cycling off for long stretches, or set high while a house is empty, moisture stays in the wall and the paper can take days to set. Seams that are still damp are vulnerable to lifting.
Before we schedule, we ask a few questions about your AC and how warm you keep the house. On install day we measure humidity in the room and adjust our approach. Sometimes that means choosing a different adhesive or giving primer extra drying time; occasionally it means asking you to run a dehumidifier the night before.
Common Wall Surfaces in the Area
Houses in this part of the county are often concrete block with plaster or drywall finishes, and condos tend to have drywall partitions with some exposed concrete. Each surface has a characteristic flaw. Plaster develops spidery cracks, drywall shows tape seams and fastener pops, and concrete can be rough or dusty. Our prep addresses whatever we find so the paper has a uniform base.
If the old paint is glossy or chalky, we sand and use a bonding primer. If an exterior wall feels damp or shows staining, we look for the cause before covering it, since wallpaper can trap moisture against a wall that is still wet.
Seasons and Storms
The months between November and April are warmer and drier, which makes them a comfortable window for big jobs like stripping several rooms. May through October brings humid, rainy days with frequent afternoon thunderstorms, but indoor work continues as long as the AC keeps up.
Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. When a storm is forecast, we contact clients ahead of time to decide whether to proceed. After a power outage, we wait until the home has dried out under normal cooling before hanging new paper.
