The short answer
PrimeWall Interior Solutions installs wallpaper in Lauderhill houses, townhomes and condos, handling measurement, wall prep, pattern layout and cleanup. We drive in from Fort Lauderdale, about seven miles east, and adapt each job to the wall type and to South Florida humidity.
Lauderhill is a busy residential city in central Broward County with a wide range of housing: single-family concrete-block homes, townhouse rows, garden apartments and condo buildings. That variety means no two wallpaper jobs here start from the same wall. One home has smooth, freshly painted drywall; the next has plaster over block with four decades of patches. PrimeWall Interior Solutions travels roughly seven miles west from Fort Lauderdale to install wallpaper throughout Lauderhill and ZIP 33313. Below is a practical look at how we plan a job, what we need from you and what you can expect on installation day.
Before you choose a paper
A quick visit before you order saves time and money. We look at the walls, measure, and talk about how the room is used. That conversation often changes the product choice: a paper you loved in a photo may be the wrong material for a bathroom without a fan, or the wrong scale for a narrow hallway.
We also calculate how many rolls you need based on pattern repeat, roll size and wall dimensions, and we remind you to order everything from the same production batch so colors match.
What we check on Lauderhill walls
Older homes in the city were often built with concrete block exterior walls finished with plaster or drywall on furring strips. Interior walls are typically drywall. Each has its own issues, and a good install depends on catching them early.
- Moisture in exterior block walls, especially after heavy summer rains
- Heavy texture that would show through thin papers
- Glossy or chalky paint that prevents good adhesion
- Old wallpaper hidden under paint
- Cracks, nail pops and patched areas that need smoothing
- Walls or corners that are noticeably out of plumb
How we prepare and hang
Prep comes first: patching, sanding, skim coating where needed, and a wallcovering primer on every surface. That primer is the single most important step for both the installation and any future removal. It controls how the paste bonds and lets the paper release cleanly years from now.
Next we plan the layout. A laser line sets true vertical, and we decide where the pattern starts so it is centered on the focal point and finishes in an inconspicuous corner. We check how the pattern will sit at the ceiling line and above doors and windows. Then we paste, hang, match each seam and smooth out air. Trimming at ceilings, baseboards, casings and outlets is done with fresh blades for crisp edges.
Matching material to room
Bedrooms and living rooms can take almost any quality wallpaper. Nonwoven papers are popular because they are stable in humidity and easy to remove later. Bathrooms do best with solid vinyl and a working exhaust fan. Kitchens and family hallways benefit from scrubbable finishes. Grasscloth and other natural fibers are lovely but belong in dry, air-conditioned rooms away from water.
Peel-and-stick wallpaper can be tempting, and it works in some situations. In a South Florida home, though, heat and humidity can loosen its adhesive, particularly on exterior walls. We will give you an honest view of whether it suits your space.
Climate and scheduling
The area's tropical climate means humidity is a constant, with the stickiest months from May through October. Keeping the AC running before, during and after installation helps the paste cure evenly. During hurricane season, June 1 through November 30, we track forecasts and may move an appointment if a storm could cause a long outage right after installation.
On the day of the install
Our crew arrives with drop cloths, a pasting table, levels and trimming tools, and we set up in a corner of the room or an adjoining space so the rest of the house stays usable. Outlet covers and switch plates come off the walls being papered and are kept together so nothing goes missing. If the room has a ceiling fan, we may ask that it stay off while strips are drying, since moving air can pull edges before the paste grabs.
We work wall by wall and check each seam as we go rather than waiting until the end. That way, any strip that shifts or shows a gap can be corrected while the adhesive is still workable. Expect some noise from moving furniture and the occasional ladder shuffle, but no dust-heavy sanding on installation day if prep was completed earlier.
When we finish, we walk the room with you, point out how long to wait before hanging artwork, and leave labeled scraps for future touch-ups.
